OBIS

Obis are the traditional sashes worn across the midsection over the kimono and often tied in a simple or elaborate bow in the back. They range in colors and styles, from the wider Nagoya Obi which requires several other accessories to the simple Hanhaba Obi. Obis often pick up a minor color in the kimono to help the colors pop. You can choose any color or style to fit your individual style!

Hanhaba Obis

These obis are worn with yukatas and other casual kimono wear. They do not require additional kimono accessories such as obi jimes or obi ages. They are the easiest way to accessorize your kimono. Our hanhaba obis are all 100% silk and woven in Kyoto, Japan.

Fukuro Obi

The fukuro obi has a single wide width throughout the entire length. It istied with a double fold and usually used with other accessories to create bow or a rounded "drum" in the back.

Nagoya Obi

This obi style is might lighter and simpler than the fukuro obi. the prefolded and stitched portion is wrapped around the waist and the wider, flatter portion creates the tie in the back. We are offering 2 beautiful and unique Nagoya obis: one hand painted and the other hand embroidered.
